Submission Instructions

Submitting an Article

  1. Consider writing the initial draft of your content in a familiar program (Word, etc).
  2. As you write, be familiar with our Style Guide.
  3. Log in to The Liberty Lens. (If you’re reading this online, you’ve already done that.)
  4. In the main Dashboard navigation menu, click on All Posts >> Add New.
  5. In the “Add Title” space, give your article a descriptive title. This may be adjusted editorially.
  6. In the space that says, “Tap / to choose a block”, paste the article text. Optionally, you can write and edit directly in this space.
NOTE: If you type a ‘/’ after an “ENTER”, you will see a menu of useful elements that can be added into your content.
  7. When you are done with the draft, preview your article.
  8. Before submitting, make sure that your article has all of the required element. To do this, make sure the right element panel is open. To do this:
    1. Click on the gear in the upper right corner.
    2. Make sure that the tab labeled “Post” is selected to reveal the Contributor Panel.
    3. With a few exceptions, the defaults are generally okay to leave.
    4. In the Notifications space, list the other user(s) who will be involved in the editorial feedback loop. These people can communicate to each other using the adjacent Editorial Comments space.
    5. For Category, Deselect “News”and ensure that at least one category is selected. If your article is in any way opinion oriented, you must select “Editorials” in addition to any other category.
    6. Either add a Featured Image or request that one be created.
    7. If the article was co-authored, add the other authors in the Authors block.
    8. You can optionally set the article to expire using the PublishPress Future option if that is appropriate.
  9. When previewing, DO NOT click on ads in your articles. By rule, those clicks must be authentic and visitor-driven.
  10. Make any changes that may be needed.
  11. When you are done, “Submit for Review”. Congrats!
